represents the overall interest of the IHK member companies

  • represents economic interests and campaigns for better economic conditions
  • acts on the local and state level as well as on the federal and European level
  • exerts influence on legislative procedures, regional development, infrastructure

Carries out state tasks on its own responsibility

  • e.g. vocational training examinations, foreign trade documents, hazardous goods driver examinations
  • business-oriented services

supports members individually on entrepreneurial issues

  • offers a wide range of consulting and seminar services
  • combines cross-industry consulting expertise and service quality

Voice of the economy for the economy

  • Develops positions and policies on business-related issues with the participation of entrepreneurs
  • The plenary assembly (elected members as the "parliament of the IHK member companies") is the supreme body of the IHK and decides on the focal points of its work, finances and fundamental matters.
  • Entrepreneurs are also involved on an honorary basis in specialist committees and examination boards.

Legal form:

  • Corporation under public law

Members:

  • all companies are by law members of the IHK(regardless of legal form),
    if they are liable to trade tax and have a permanent establishment in the IHK district.
  • Exception: pure handicraft enterprises (member of the chamber of handicraft)
