Service Description

An insurance advisor is a person who professionally advises third parties on the agreement, amendment or review of insurance contracts or on the assertion of claims arising from insurance contracts in the event of an insured event, or who represents third parties out of court vis-à-vis the insurance company without receiving an economic benefit from an insurance company or being dependent on it in any other way.

Insurance consultants require

  • a permit in accordance with § 34d para. 2 GewO and
  • have to be entered in the register of intermediaries.

The permit is issued by the competent Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK). It also keeps the register of intermediaries.
In addition, a business registration is required at the responsible trade office.
