Service Description

In order to practice their profession, certified public accountants must be appointed by the Chamber of Public Accountants.

The appointment simultaneously establishes membership in the Chamber of Public Accountants. This is obligatory in the Chamber of Public Accountants. The main tasks of the Chamber include

  • to provide professional advice to its members
  • mediate in disputes between members or between members and their clients, and
  • To supervise the fulfillment of the professional duties of its members.

Requirements:

To be appointed by the Chamber of Public Accountants, you must have passed the examination as a certified public accountant.

Procedural requirements:

You must apply for appointment as a certified public accountant at the regional office of the Chamber of Public Accountants. You can either obtain the relevant form there or download it from the website of the Chamber of Public Accountants. You fill in the form and submit it to the regional office together with the required documents.

If nothing stands in the way of the appointment, you will receive an appointment for the swearing-in ceremony. After the swearing-in ceremony, you will receive a certificate of approval. You will be entered as a certified public accountant in the professional register of the Chamber of Public Accountants.

As a certified public accountant, you may not be an employee of accounting firms, tax consulting firms or law firms, but only their legal representative.

Note for nationals of another EU member state: As a national of another EU member state, you must prove that you are authorized to conduct statutory audits of annual financial statements and submit confirmation that you have passed the aptitude test. You must take the qualifying examination before the examination board.
