Register employees of employers based abroad or lenders in the minimum wage registration portal

Service Description

In principle, you must register in the minimum wage registration portal if your employees are currently working in one of the following sectors:

  • Main construction and ancillary construction trades
  • Catering and accommodation industry
  • Passenger transportation
  • Freight forwarding, transportation and related logistics industry
  • Show business
  • Forestry companies
  • Building cleaning industry
  • Companies involved in the construction and dismantling of trade fairs and exhibitions
  • Meat industry
  • Prostitution industry
  • Security and safety services
  • Waste management, including street cleaning and winter services
  • Education and training services in accordance with the Second or Third Book of the German Social Code
  • Nursing services
  • Chimney sweep trade
  • Temporary work, supply of temporary workers

You must regularly provide this information:

  • Surname, first name and date of birth of the employee
  • Start and duration of employment or temporary employment
  • Place of employment
  • Place in Germany where the documents are held
  • Name and address of the person responsible or the lender
  • Sector in which the employee will be working

You also need someone in Germany to whom mail can be delivered. You must state your name and address when registering.

As an employer, you must also ensure that you comply with the minimum working conditions applicable in Germany. If you submit a notification as a hirer, you must upload a corresponding assurance from the hirer.

If the information in a notification changes, you must submit a change notification.
