You would like to operate a private inspection body for organic farming that monitors and verifies compliance with the EC Organic Regulation directly on site at farms and companies? Then you need an approval for this on application.

Requirements for inspection bodies:

• The inspection body fulfills the legal requirements.
• It is ensured that the controls are properly carried out in accordance with the relevant laws.
• The inspection body must have paid the fees charged for approval.
• The inspection body has an establishment in the country. In the case of an inspection body with its registered office or branch in another Member State of the European Union, the approval granted in that Member State must be taken into account in the procedure. However, this inspection body must prove that it is approved in the other Member State and that it has the appropriate personnel and infrastructure to perform the inspection tasks.

Approval is granted for the entire territory of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Upon application, the approval may be limited to individual countries. It shall be granted for countries in which a loan is envisaged on the basis of a legal ordinance pursuant to Section 2 (3) ÖLG, subject to the condition that the loan is made.

The authorization may be subject to time limits, conditions and requirements or a reservation of revocation. The subsequent inclusion or amendment of conditions is also permissible.
