Safety on the way to school is best achieved through cooperation between the administration, police, politicians, schools and parents.

On the basis of data collected (accident type map of the police, building development, traffic volume, etc.) and experience, suitable measures can be selected and implemented, for which other offices (e.g. planning office, civil engineering office) may be responsible.

School route plans, in which danger-reduced routes and danger spots, which could possibly be deployment points for school route controllers, are entered, facilitate the selection of the appropriate route, which should be practiced with first-year students at an early stage. In addition, safe routes to school are an integral part of the lessons at school. The police offer road safety advice with various events.
