Drinking water monitoring

Service Description

The health offices of the districts and independent cities monitor water supply systems at regular intervals. Within the scope of the monitoring, the health authorities have to check the fulfillment of the obligations incumbent on the entrepreneur and the other owner of a water supply system on the basis of the Drinking Water Ordinance. The inspections also include visits to the water supply facilities and the taking and examination of water samples.

  • Advice on compliance with the requirements of the Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV) in conjunction with § 37 of the Infection Protection Act (IfSG)
  • Monitoring of central water supply systems including sampling
  • Release of drinking water networks of water suppliers after construction measures by external companies
  • Monitoring of drinking water installations and drinking water in governmental, ecclesiastical and educational institutions including sampling
  • Monitoring of the drinking water installation including an examination of the drinking water ordered according to § 14 (6) TrinkwV and the self-monitoring examinations of the drinking and hot water in all facilities that are subject to the monitoring of the Office for Social Affairs and Health
  • Monitoring of drinking water installations and self-control examinations in food establishments (restaurants, food sales establishments, food producing establishments)
  • Registration and monitoring of own water supply systems (wells, cisterns, rainwater systems, etc.) used for human consumption.
