Home adult educationcenters (HVHS) are institutions of adult education of supra-regional importance, whose educational work is aimed at a closed group of participants with a coherent educational program lasting several days with boarding school-like accommodation. The three adult education centers in Thuringia, which are recognized and eligible for funding under the Thuringian Adult Education Act, are run by both private (e.V.) and church organizations. With their educational offerings in the areas of general, political, cultural and vocational adult education, they make important contributions to economic and democratic development, to the cultural infrastructure and even to the competence development of citizens in the region. The HVHSs offer everyone, regardless of their origin, nationality or level of education, holistic and life-oriented education in courses that are designed to strengthen the self-help powers of the individual, promote personal initiative, discover and develop a sense of responsibility, creativity and creative potential. The events offered include seminars, conferences, educational retreats and educational weekends with socio-political, religious and cultural themes as well as courses for the target groups: Families, seniors, women, men, children and the disabled. In addition, the HVHSs also offer courses in musical and creative areas.
