Apply for a change to the aviation security program for a foreign air carrier

Service Description

Foreign air carriers operating flights within the European Union (EU) must ensure that their aviation security program is always up to date.

If you as an air carrier have an aviation security program, it must be continuously updated so that it remains valid and approved. You must apply to the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) for changes to the aviation security program.

Changes to the aviation security program are, for example

  • new legal framework conditions
  • another person becomes aviation security officer or aviation security officer
  • Change of name of the air carrier
  • Changes that affect security measures
  • changes affecting the aviation security officers or the representatives of the aviation security officers
  • Other changes

You may only implement changes to new procedures after they have been approved by the Federal Aviation Office.

Depending on the change, it may be temporary or become a permanent part of the aviation security program.
