If you find a sick, helpless or injured animal, you should consider whether you can help it yourself or whether you should rather hand it over to the lower nature conservation authority or to the State Bird Sanctuary in Seebach. If necessary, you should definitely seek the help of a veterinarian. He can treat the animal and advise you on further care. Keep in mind, however, that you may incur costs.

If it should be only a still flightless young bird, put this if possible, always only from the danger area on a higher place. Young birds will continue to be cared for by their parents and will never be abandoned because of human smell. In the case of young birds that are not yet able to fly, leaving the nest prematurely is part of their survival strategy, because the danger of parasite contamination, excrement and waterlogging in the nest is often higher than the danger of falling victim to an animal.
