If you are admitted to or move into a hospital, nursing home, or other institution that serves to care for people in need of care or disabled people or to educate them in a home, you are not subject to the obligation to register as long as you are registered for another home in Germany.

If this is not the case, you must register with the registration office as soon as your stay exceeds three months. If you are not able to register in person, then this must be done by the managers of the of the facilities.
