Official gazette publication

Service Description

Legal norms (laws, legal ordinances, statutes) only become effective when they are promulgated, i.e. publicly announced. Federal laws and ordinances are promulgated in the Federal Law Gazette (Bundesgesetzblatt), while state regulations are promulgated in the state gazettes (Gesetz- und Verordnungsblätter). For the municipal level, there are regulations under state law that provide for the public announcement of statutes in an official gazette, a newspaper or, in smaller municipalities, by posting on a proclamation board. In the official gazettes of the municipalities, not only statutes but also other legally required notices are publicly announced. In addition, information is provided on other official notices. In a non-official section, the official gazettes may contain short news from the municipality, information on events and advertisements.
