For a selection of activities that are considered non-essential activities, no entry in the register of skilled craftsmen or in the directories kept by the Chamber of Skilled Crafts is provided for.

Activities that can be learned within three months or require a longer training period, but are secondary to the overall picture of the relevant craft requiring a license, are considered non-essential. Furthermore, activities that have not arisen from a craft requiring a license are considered non-essential.

However, registration is required if you have successfully passed the journeyman's examination in a craft requiring a license, the activity in question was part of the initial training in this craft requiring a license and this activity accounts for the majority of your commercial activity.

This regulation only applies to tradespeople who register a commercial activity for the first time after 31.12.2003.
