Attracting research and development (R&D) personnel - R&D personnel

Service Description

Funding is provided for:

  • the recruitment of future personnel, among others for research and development, marketing, design
  • the further training of existing personnel for the areas of research and development, design, implementation or marketing of innovations, as well as
  • the work of research groups in the context of knowledge and technology transfer between research institutions and companies.

In the funding subjects:

1. thuringia fellowship

  • Funding is provided for the award of fixed, performance-independent company scholarships to doctoral students or students of all disciplines, especially mathematics, computer science, or a natural science or engineering discipline at a university.
  • The basis for the funding is the applicable regulations on de minimis grants.

2. innovative personnel

  • Funding is provided for the permanent recruitment of personnel with a university degree, a degree from a university of applied sciences or a state-recognized vocational academy. The subsidized persons are employed for research and development of innovative products and processes as well as the subsequent activities.
  • The basis for the funding is the respective applicable regulations on de minimis aid.

3 Thuringia Scholarship Plus

Thüringen-Stipendium Plus is the combination of Thüringen-Stipendium with recruitment as innovative personnel.

  • Funding is provided for the award of company scholarships to doctoral candidates or students of all disciplines, especially mathematics, computer science, or a natural science or engineering discipline at a university, and the subsequent permanent employment of the graduate as R&D personnel.
  • The basis for the funding is the applicable regulations on de minimis aid.

4. secondment of R&D personnel

  • Funding is provided for personnel expenses for the temporary secondment of R&D personnel to a research institution to work on an R&D topic.
  • The basis for the funding is the applicable rules on de minimis aid.

5. loan of highly qualified R&D personnel

  • Funding is provided for personnel expenses for the temporary loan of highly qualified R&D personnel from a research institution or from a large company.
  • The basis for the support is the applicable rules on de minimis aid.

6. research groups

  • Funding is available for teams of 3 to 6 employees working together on an R&D topic.

The funding covers the personnel expenses of the employees of the research group and a lump sum of 15% of the other necessary project expenses of the research institution.
