Service Description

The Ombudsman is the point of contact and advisor for citizens in all matters relating to public administration. His task is to protect their rights vis-à-vis the public administration in Thuringia and to advise and support them in their dealings with the administration. He sees himself as a "moderator, interpreter and guide" at the interface between citizens and the state. As such, the Ombudsman mediates in conflicts between citizens and the public administration, helps to understand official letters or official texts and provides information on responsibilities and expert contacts.

Anyone has the right to contact the Ombudsman individually or together with others, either directly in writing or verbally.
