In principle, you need a permit for the acquisition and possession of weapons. In deviation from this, there are specifically named exceptions in the Weapons Act. In addition, you have the option of applying for an exceptional permit for a case not provided for in the Weapons Act, provided there are special reasons and public safety and order concerns do not conflict with this. However, this is only possible for cases that are comparable with the exceptional cases specifically named in the Weapons Act.
