Promotion of projects and measures of regional development and shaping the consequences of demographic change

Service Description

In Thuringia, the funding guidelines of the Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure and Agriculture on projects and measures for regional development and for shaping the consequences of demographic change implement the requirements of regional planning and the guiding principles of the Thuringian regional development program and regional plans. This is done by supporting projects in all regions of Thuringia that serve to strengthen structurally weak areas or to create equal living conditions in all parts of the state, while involving civic and entrepreneurial commitment to ensure the provision of public services. In addition, the two further points must be fulfilled when applying for funding in the funding areas A and C:

  • Strengthening the cooperation of local and regional actors,
  • Stabilization, improvement and expansion of inter-municipal cooperation.

In part B, on the other hand, the focus is on ensuring socially just participation in regions affected by demographic change. Funding is therefore provided primarily for projects, measures and plans that help to actively and proactively shape the consequences of demographic change in the territory of the Free State of Thuringia, with a particular focus on intergenerational exchange and strengthening the sense of unity at the local level.

Funding can be approved for projects in all regions of Thuringia. Applicants are usually districts, municipalities or local associations.
