Declare cross-border shipments of commercial goods to customs online via the Union transit procedure

Service Description

In order to process commercial goods traffic with non-EU countries largely automatically, the customs administration has introduced the ATLAS (Automated Tariff and Local Customs Clearance System) IT procedure nationwide. ATLAS is used to process and monitor the cross-border movement of goods.

In the Union transit procedure, goods can be transported between 2 locations within the customs territory of the Union under customs supervision without being subject to import duties during the transit procedure.

To make it easier for you to place your goods under the Union transit procedure via ATLAS, German customs has set up an internet platform. You can use this to enter your customs declaration data and transmit it to the customs administration.

However, you must be aware of this: Your customs declaration only becomes legally effective once you have printed it out, signed it and submitted it to the relevant customs office - in addition to the online transit declaration.
