Inquiry of the operators of radio relay links in the specified plan area

Service Description

The Federal Network Agency allocates frequencies for the operation of radio relay systems. It can contribute to the avoidance of radio relay interference in planning and approval procedures within the framework of building law or immission control law. Such radio relay interference can be caused by new, tall buildings, for example wind turbines or high-rise buildings.

In order to avoid such radio relay interference, the Federal Network Agency will provide the names and addresses of the radio relay operators for the construction area at the current time on request.

This allows planning authorities to inform any affected radio relay operators about the planned construction measures or land use at an early stage. The Federal Network Agency also checks whether radio positioning stations (radar) or radio measuring stations operated by the Federal Network Agency in the public interest are affected.

The radio relay operators are responsible for selecting and setting up the transmission and reception sites for radio relay routes and determining the associated routing. The protection of radio relay routes and the protection of interests vis-à-vis cities and municipalities is the sole responsibility of the radio relay operators.

Information on specific routes and technical parameters contains trade and business secrets. This information can only be obtained directly from the radio relay operators. Safety distances to radio relay routes must be agreed with the radio relay operators concerned.
