Apply for admission to the teacher training program
Service Description
After successfully completing your teaching degree at a university, you have the opportunity to complete your teacher training in Thuringia. This requires successful completion of the preparatory service. Depending on the type of school, the preparatory service generally lasts 18 months (elementary school teaching profession) or 24 months (all other teaching professions) and is intended to provide you with the pedagogical and practical skills and abilities for the profession as a teacher. The training takes place at state seminars for teacher training and at schools, depending on the type of school. The training takes place within the framework of a civil servant relationship on revocation, as far as civil service regulations do not contradict.
The preparatory service is completed with the Second State Examination for one of the following teaching professions (teaching qualification):
- Teaching profession at elementary schools
- Teaching profession at regular schools
- Teaching profession at grammar schools
- Teacher training at vocational schools
- Teacher training for special needs education.
