Service Description

The professions of generally sworn interpreter, generally sworn sign language interpreter and authorized translator are regulated.

The profession of generally sworn interpreter entitles the holder to provide oral language interpretation for judicial, prosecutorial and notarial purposes. The profession of generally sworn sign language interpreter entitles the holder to translate between oral language and sign language for judicial, prosecutorial and notarial purposes. The profession of authorized translator entitles the authorized translator to translate written languages for judicial, prosecutorial and notarial purposes. The corresponding language is German. An activity as a generally sworn interpreter, generally sworn sign language interpreter or as an authorized translator can only be exercised after the general swearing-in or after the authorization by the responsible President of the Regional Court.
