The higher civil service in the state administration of the Free State of Thuringia

A large number of tasks in local government and general state administration are carried out by civil servants in the higher civil service. The specialist and legal knowledge they acquire during their training enables them to apply laws, ordinances and administrative regulations correctly and sensibly in order to fulfill their public duties. The in-depth specialist knowledge acquired during their studies and the methodical and independent application of this knowledge form the basis for making factually and legally correct decisions.

Candidate and service remuneration, accommodation

The basic amount of the candidate's salary is currently approx. 1,000 euros per month. If you are married and/or have children, you will receive corresponding supplements.

During your theoretical training at the Thüringer Verwaltungsfachhochschule Gotha, you can live in the dormitory there and take part in the catering. These costs are borne by the Free State of Thuringia for civil servant candidates.

Employment after training

The civil servant relationship on revocation ends when you pass the career examination. There is no entitlement to employment after training. If you complete your studies with good results, you have a good chance of being appointed as a government inspector and thus a probationary civil servant.
