Social debt counseling provides people with debt problems or in a situation of over-indebtedness with advice and assistance from a psychosocial and legal perspective. Counseling is confidential and free of charge. In the event of insolvency and imminent insolvency, the consumer insolvency advice centers advise and accompany the person seeking advice at their request in the preparation of consumer insolvency proceedings, in court debt settlement proceedings and in court insolvency proceedings up to the granting of residual debt discharge.
