Children between the ages of 0 and 14 can be looked after in child day care. You need a child day care permit if you would like to look after a child or several children outside the household of the legal guardian for part of the day and for more than 15 hours a week for more than 3 months in return for payment.

The permit for child day care

• is issued by the local youth welfare office,
• is limited to 5 years,
• may be subject to additional conditions,
• authorizes you to care for up to 5 other children present at the same time.
