Promoting the integration of people with a migration background

Service Description

The target groups for measures and projects funded under this guideline are primarily ethnic German repatriates and their family members as well as foreign nationals with a permanent or intended permanent right of residence (immigrants).

The aim of the funding is to improve the framework conditions for the equal participation of people with an immigrant background in economic, social, political and cultural life in order to enable them to take responsibility for shaping their own lives. Eligible measures and projects include in particular:

  • Improving language and vocational qualifications
  • Increasing the success of integration courses in accordance with § 43 of the Residence Act or § 9 of the Federal Expellees Act
  • Linking and improving existing counseling services for immigrants and
  • Coordination of the counselors
  • Improving the integration of immigrants into the local community
  • Improving the equal participation of immigrants in the health care system
  • Networking and consulting of institutions and organizations dealing with integration issues as well as a nationwide coordination of existing integration activities

Support for measures and projects for foreign nationals without a permanent residence permit can be considered, especially in the areas of "health care" and "promotion of voluntary departure".
