Service Description

Inpatient facilities within the meaning of the Thuringian Housing and Participation Act (ThürWTG) are facilities that serve the purpose of accommodating older people, people in need of care or people with disabilities or people at risk of disability who have reached the age of majority, providing them with living space and making nursing or care services available or available on a mandatory basis along with the provision of living space. The care of elderly persons and persons with disabilities in facilities is provided with the primary aim of ensuring a life in the facility that is based on the principles of human dignity. In this context, the protection of residents is of particular importance.

The tasks of home supervision in Thuringia consist mainly of ensuring the provision of advice to residents, the operators of facilities and the facility managers and staff. The home supervisor monitors

  • Nursing homes for the elderly,
  • short-term care facilities,
  • facilities for the disabled as well as their outlying residential groups,
  • addiction facilities,
  • Outpatient assisted living facilities.
