The following activities in the guarding trade may only be carried out after passing the expert examination at the IHK:

• Patrols in public traffic areas or in areas of the house with actual public traffic
• Protection against shoplifters
• Guarding in the entrance area of discotheques in the hospitality industry
• Guarding of reception facilities in accordance with § 44 of the Asylum Act, as amended, of community accommodations in accordance with § 53 of the Asylum Act or other real estate and facilities that serve the official accommodation, even temporarily, of asylum seekers or refugees, in a managerial function
• Guarding of large-scale events with protected access in a managerial function
