The Bundeswehr's civil-military cooperation (CML) is an independent area of responsibility within the Bundeswehr.
CML encompasses all measures, forces and resources that regulate, support or promote relations between Bundeswehr agencies, civilian authorities and the civilian population.
This applies both within Germany and during Bundeswehr deployments abroad.
The Bundeswehr's CML expressly includes cooperation with aid organizations and other non-governmental organizations as well as international organizations.
