Apply for approval of fares for local rail passenger transport
Service Description
Public railroad undertakings are obliged to set tariffs for local rail passenger services. Tariffs are transport charges and conditions of carriage without the prior approval of which rail transport services may not be provided. Tariffs must contain the charges or all information necessary to calculate the charge for the carriage of passengers and for ancillary services in passenger transport, as well as all other provisions relevant to the carriage. Tariffs must be applied in the same way to everyone.
The railroad undertakings and the transport and tariff associations based in Thuringia shall submit a tariff application for the conditions of carriage or their amendment to the Thuringian Ministry for Digital and Infrastructure, which shall be decided on within 6 weeks.
Process flow
An informal application for approval of the conditions of carriage or for approval of the amendment to the conditions of carriage shall be submitted. If deviations are to be made from the provisions of the Railway Traffic Regulations or from agreements or requirements in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1370/2007, as amended, this must be specifically indicated. The application is then examined to determine whether the tariff exceeds a maximum tariff set in accordance with Article 3(2) or (3) of Regulation (EC) No. 1370/2007 and whether the conditions of carriage comply with the applicable law.
