The chambers of industry and commerce keep a register of intermediaries. The following persons, among others, must be entered in the register:

• productcessory insurance agents
• productcessory insurance brokers
• insurance consultants
• Insurance intermediaries (insurance brokers or agents)

If you belong to one of the above-mentioned professional groups, you may only work if you have a corresponding entry in the register of intermediaries.
Employees who are responsible for brokerage or advice in a managerial position must also be registered.
The following data is recorded in the register of intermediaries:

• Your surname and first name or that of the legal representatives with responsibility for intermediary activities and of the employees subject to registration,
• the company and commercial partnerships in which you are active as a managing partner,
• Your date of birth and the date of birth of the employees subject to registration,
• the status of your activity, i.e. the following activities
  • Insurance broker with a license
  • Insurance agent with a license
  • productcessory insurance agent
  • productcessory insurance broker
  • Tied insurance agent
  • insurance consultant
• the name and address of the competent registration authority
• the EU/EEA member states in which you intend to operate and, if you have a branch, the business address and legal representatives of that branch
• your business address
• Your registration number
• For tied insurance agents: the insurance company assuming liability

The register of intermediaries is publicly accessible online - with the exception of dates of birth and the insurance company assuming liability. The purpose of the register is in particular to enable the general public, in particular insurance companies, to verify the license and the scope of the licensed activities of those subject to registration. Anyone can search for a person subject to registration by entering their name or register number.
