Women's shelters

Service Description

Women's shelters or women's shelters provide counseling (also on an outpatient basis), protection and accompaniment, e.g. to authorities, and support to every woman and her children who are threatened or affected by psychological, physical and/or sexual and domestic violence, as well as women affected by stalking (persecution, harassment by adm irers).

The staff members provide information about the help available and show ways to end the violent processes and provide acute crisis intervention at any time. Some of these women's protection facilities offer outreach counseling (pro-active).

This offer is also directed at

relatives, caregivers and professional helpers of those affected.

As a rule, women's shelters are run by associations. They are financially supported by public grants.

For security reasons, the addresses of the women's shelters are not published in public directories.

Men are not permitted to enter the center.

If men are affected by domestic violence, they will receive outpatient counseling and be directed to other support services.
