Service Description

The "Thuringian State Program for Coping with the Consequences of Extreme Weather Events in the Forest" provides financial grants to support private and municipal forest owners as well as recognized forestry associations in coping with the consequences of extreme weather events. The focus is on recognizing calamities and coordinating and implementing control measures as well as monitoring the damage, safeguarding forest functions and biodiversity in small private forests by reforesting and preserving habitat trees on the damaged areas for reasons of erosion control, restoring the structural condition of forest roads that have been overused due to calamities, and eliminating acute danger situations caused by dead/damaged trees on roads and built-up areas.
